About Claire
Sick and disoriented, Claire found her way to safety by asking a kind member of the public for help, and was so graciously taken inside and looked after whilst she awaited a placement.
Claire had contracted pmv (paramyxovirus) which she has now recovered from, but not before it took her coordination skills to fly, so she prefers to be safe on the ground now.
She is quite comfortable with people and is happy to hang out on your hand and shoulder, but sometimes she can get a bit of a fright if you approach her too quickly and she doesn’t have time to process it. 😊 she would love to be indoors or in an aviary suitable for her needs, and would always be open to having a pigeon boyfriend if her owner is unable to devote the many hours of attention a solo pigeon needs daily!
Medical notes
Post-Paramyxovirus (PMV)
Pmv can often leave birds with neurological issues. Claire is a little bit wobbly and cannot fly.
Pigeons who are post-pmv can still live with non-pmv pigeons.
