About Cruiser
Meet Cruiser! He's a sweet, happy-go-lucky 3-year-old black and tan Kelpie boy with so much love to give. Weighing in at just 16kgs, he's proof that the best things come in small packages.
This little charmer has slotted into foster care without a blip - he's housetrained, crate-trained, loves a car ride, friendly with new people, great with dogs big and small and adores a game of tug. Most of all, he loves to stare into your soul with his bewitching brown eyes and snuggle the day away - this boy takes his job as professional smooch very seriously.
Cruiser has medium energy levels for the breed - we’ve nicknamed him Snoozer! He’s content to nap all day after having a nice big nature walk and some training/play time in the morning. Off-lead, he's excellent at checking in with you and comes back of his own accord to trot at your heel every few minutes. He's getting better with his lead walking every day, but does pull strongly at first so this will be a work in progress for his new adopter.
In care, Cruiser's been working on managing his excitement and not jumping up when giving his humans kelpie kisses - he’s looking for a home that appreciates his playful antics and is committed to continued training in this area. He's super smart and very motivated by praise and food, so we've no doubt he'll nail it. Like all working breeds, consistent boundaries and structure will be essential to keep him developing into the best boy he can be.
In his previous life he had a little too much affection for the resident chickens, so a home without livestock is advised. Aside from that, Cruiser has such an easygoing, friendly nature that he'd suit a variety of active, loving homes with a family who included him in their day-to-day lives.
If you've got a spot for a small but mighty kelpie in your heart and home, Cruiser might be the one for you!
Cruiser is located in NSW.
