Zenon

Meet Zenon – a playful, affectionate doggie with the happiest little tail.

Zenon is very much still a young dog, full of energy and enthusiasm for life. He absolutely loves his toys and will happily entertain himself (and you!) with a game of chase the ball. Adding to his charm is the most gorgeous little stumpy tail, which seems to wag almost constantly — especially when he is excited to see his people. His playful nature is balanced beautifully by his affectionate side. Zenon is incredibly cuddly and, given the choice, would spend all day snuggled up with his family. He thrives on closeness and connection and truly enjoys being part of the action.

Zenon is toilet trained and has already made a great start with his foundation training. He is learning “sit” and is showing promise, though “stay” is still a work in progress. He walks reasonably well on lead but is still getting used to it and can occasionally tangle himself up in his enthusiasm. Continued gentle lead training will help him build confidence and improve his manners. Zenon should use a martingale collar as he would be capable of slipping out of a flat corner or harness. He is crate trained and will independently go to his crate when he needs a break, which is a wonderful skill for a young dog to have.

Socially, Zenon is a friendly and affectionate boy. He is friendly with other dogs and would enjoy opportunities for play and social interaction. When greeting people, he can become a little overexcited and may jump up in his enthusiasm, so ongoing training and consistency will help him learn calmer manners. He is still somewhat nervous around heavy traffic and busy, crowded environments, and his new owners should be prepared to continue building his confidence gradually through positive exposure and reassurance. For this reason, Zenon would be best suited to a quieter suburban lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of busy city environments, where he can continue to build confidence at his own pace.

We are looking for a home committed to continuing Zenon’s training and providing both physical exercise and mental stimulation to help channel his energy appropriately. He would thrive in a household where he is included as a valued family member and allowed to live indoors. He does love his lounge cuddle sessions! Zenon will require a home with a secure yard where he can explore and play. He would be best placed in an adult-only household or one with dog-savvy children who are confident and comfortable managing his slightly jumpy, enthusiastic greetings. Zenon would thrive in home where he is the only dog as he loves all the human attention to himself!

Zenon is a cuddly, playful young boy with so much potential. With ongoing training and lots of love, he will grow into a well-rounded, loyal companion and reward his new family with endless affection — and that constantly wagging little stumpy tail.
