About Nova
Nova – Gentle little shadow and professional lap-companion
If you’re looking for a kitten who will quietly become your constant companion, Nova may be your girl.
Nova is a beautiful tortoiseshell kitten with delicate golden flecks across her face and coat, and a soft, thoughtful nature to match. She is not the “launch herself off the curtains” type of kitten — instead she prefers to observe first, decide you are safe, and then choose you very deliberately.
When Nova trusts you (and it truly doesn’t take long), she reveals her favourite hobby: curling up beside you while you read, work, or watch television. She will gently climb onto your lap, start her tiny purr motor, and happily stay there as long as you’ll let her. She is affectionate without being demanding and would suit someone who wants a companion rather than a whirlwind.
Nova has a calm presence and light tread, making her particularly well-suited to indoor homes and apartment living.
She does, however, still have her playful kitten moments. She loves cat trees, feather toys, plush toys and chasing balls, and she uses scratching posts beautifully. She is respectful of furniture and has shown no interest in chewing clothes, shoes, or household items.
Personality
• Initially a little cautious with new people
• Quickly warms up with gentle handling and patience
• Very affectionate and purrs readily
• Enjoys lap time and quiet company
• Calm, gentle temperament
Social behaviour
• Friendly with other cats and kittens
• Would likely enjoy a feline companion
• Young children may be a little overwhelming at first due to her sensitive nature
• Dog compatibility currently unknown
Care & Habits
• Litter trained (pellets and crystals)
• Eats both wet and dry kitten food (not fussy)
• Not interested in human food
• Loves scratching posts and climbing towers
• Indoor raised; may transition to indoor/outdoor once safely settled
Nova has been raised in foster care, is thriving, meeting all growth milestones and has received regular flea and worm prevention. She will be ready to join her forever family once she has recovered from her desexing procedure (from 11 March 2026).
Nova would suit a calm home, a single person, couple, or family with older children who can allow her a short adjustment period. In return, she will become a loyal and deeply affectionate companion.
If you have been hoping for a gentle, loving kitten who will quietly keep you company, Nova is waiting to meet you.
Nova can be adopted on her own, but she would also happily join a home with another friendly cat.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
