About Dinky
Meet Dinky – the tiny survivor with a big personality 💕
Little Dinky’s story began alone in a Sydney pound at just 4 weeks of age — far too young to be without mum. But this brave girl didn’t let that define her. Since entering foster care she has blossomed into a confident, cheeky and very determined little pup who knows exactly what she wants from life… fun, comfort and her very own humans.
Dinky is a strong-willed, clever girl who has already learnt:
Crate training ✔️
Toilet training (coming along beautifully!) ✔️
Gentle play and communication with another Kelpie puppy her age ✔️
Her careful early socialisation has helped shape a pup who is curious, resilient and full of character. She loves interaction, stimulation and being included — she’s not a background dog, she’s a “be part of my world” dog.
To help us understand her future needs, Dinky has also had a DNA breed test, (still waiting her results) and her personality traits are already shining through in her behaviour and play style.
📹 Be sure to check out her videos — they perfectly capture her sass, confidence and adorable determination.
Dinky is ready for a committed home that will continue her training, guidance and enrichment so she grows into an amazing companion.
If you’re ready for a clever little sidekick who has already overcome so much, Dinky is waiting to meet you.
Dinky is currently available for adoption in NSW, ACT, Queensland and Victoria. If you're interested in making her a cherished member of your family, you'll need to drive with your loved ones to meet her. Should she, for any reason, not be the perfect fit for your family, you would be responsible for either bringing her back to Willow Tree or helping us rehome her from your home.
If you have recently owned a German Shepherd or large breed dog, and understand German Shepherd and think you have the commitment to give Dinky a new home, then please click on the link "Enquire about Dinky” and we will send you information about adopting a German Shepherd or go to our website and complete the application form.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
