About Liberty ^^Dandy Cat Rescue^^
🐱🐱 $120 adoption fee 🐱🐱
Once Liberty understands that she can trust you, this girl will give you her whole heart. There is nothing Liberty loves more than one-on-one pats and cuddles – but you are going to have to show her that you are a safe person first.
When Liberty came in to foster care as a small kitten, she was utterly terrified of people. We don’t know what happened to her to make her that way, but she would visibly tremble and try to make herself as small and invisible as possible around people. It was heartbreaking to see.
Over time, though, Liberty slowly began to let her guard down. First she learned how to play with fishing rod toys and would start allowing very brief human touch. Then, as she grew more bold, she would walk around in the same room as her foster carer and, after a little while, she began allowing her first pats.
Fast forward to today and Liberty is completely at ease around her foster carer and is the first to seek out pats. She will actively stand in spots around the home that signal she wants affection – it is so adorable! And when you settle on the lounge of an evening, Liberty jumps up on your lap and purrs away until she falls asleep. Safe and happy.
With new people though, she needs to learn that you’re okay and that you will offer her love and kindness. Liberty is best suited to a quieter home with one or two people (no young children please), where she can grow a deep and loving bond with you. You will then have her whole heart for life.
Liberty is fine around other cats and kittens, but we do not think her suited to a home with dogs or young children. Loud noises still tend to frighten Liberty however she has become much more confident as she’s grown, and she reacts less and less these days. She is not, and probably never will be, a fan of the vacuum cleaner or of motorbikes though.
Liberty has soft, silky fur that really glows with a once or twice-weekly brush – which she absolutely loves! This girl loves to look into your eyes and form a deep connection, so she needs a secure home where she knows you will be around some of the time, particularly evenings, to share your love with her. In return, she will give you her full self.
Ideally, she would be great with someone who understands shy cat behavior, has patience and time for her and can let the relationship grow at her pace. For your efforts you will be rewarded with a deep, loving girl who will snuggle and cuddle with you as much as you could possibly ever want.
Summary:
• Ideal for a single or couple with no young children
• Will take some time to trust but will love with her whole heart
• Enjoys a weekly or bi-weekly brush of her silky fur
• Prefers a quieter home away from sudden noises (although she is getting better at managing this)
• Needs someone who will give her lots of pats and cuddles and reassure her when she is frightened.
Located in Hampton Park.
# Indoors only.
