About Archie
Archie is looking for his person.
Archie is not a starter cat.
He’s a once-in-a-lifetime cat.
He’s had a very rough life on the streets. Archie survived skin cancer on his ears (now removed), a serious dog attack, and a long period where we genuinely weren’t sure he’d make it. But he did. And he’s still here because he has a huge will to live — and a lot of love to give.
Archie is more dog than cat. He walks like a rhino, chirps instead of meows, and has big opinions about the world. He can be swipey and moody at times, especially if he’s overwhelmed or misunderstood — so he needs someone who reads cats, not forces them.
What he loves:
• head and chin scratches
• routine and calm
• being spoken to
• leaning his whole body against you before meals — for a long time — to say thank you
• sitting at a window or enclosed balcony to people-watch — his favourite hobby
Archie is FIV+, which simply means he needs to be indoor-only, preferably with some type of contained outdoor access. He would suit a quiet home with a true cat lover who understands that some cats show love sideways, slowly, and very sincerely.
He is deeply affectionate in his own way. When Archie trusts you, you’ll know — he tells you with his whole body.
Archie’s adoption fee is $250. He is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and has had a full dental.
This is a home-for-life adoption for someone who values presence, patience and connection over perfection. Some cats don’t just want a home — they want their person. And Archie is truly a cat to be cherished.

Adoption details
Animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and on heartworm prevention / and also FIV tested for cats where possible. They are not available for adoption outside NSW (except ACT). Please email adoptpar@gmail.com if you would like further information.
Dogs and cats are rehomed on two weeks trial to ensure that both the person adopting them and the rescuer are satisfied that the dog / cat / animal is happy and adapting well to their new home and this can be extended on request
Please be aware that Paws and Recover is run by volunteers who also work. We endeavour to answer enquires as quickly as possible. Some animals will inevitably be very popular and will generate many enquires. Where there is a high volume of enquires received, it will be our priority to contact those that best fit the requirements of the animal. This may mean that it is not possible for all enquires to be answered. Please keep an eye on the website for all updates.
Providing quality information as a part of your enquiry including information about your home environment, family, work hours, other pets and what you are looking for in a companion animal along with what you can offer one will greatly assist.
