About Kevin
💛 About Kevin
Mr Kev is a 5-year-old Labradoodle with an absolute heart of gold.
He’s the kind of dog who greets you like you’ve been gone for a year — even if you just stepped out to take the bins out. Expect happy dances, enthusiastic welcomes, and the occasional sock delivery as a token of love.
Kevin thrives on connection. He is extremely sociable with humans and genuinely enjoys being part of the household. Whether it’s cuddling on the couch or joining you on an outing, Kevin just wants to be involved.
He loves:
Cuddles
Outings and adventures
Being included
And most of all… food 🍗
In fact, Kevin considers himself a Professional Mischief Maker when it comes to unattended snacks. One of his greatest talents is teaching humans not to leave food within reach!
🎓 Training & Manners
Kevin has spent time working with Michael at ProActive K9 Training, and he proudly shows off what a capable, well-mannered boy he is.
He is:
✔ Fully house trained
✔ Completely crate trained
✔ Walks beautifully on lead
✔ Responsive and easy to redirect
When out walking, Kevin may occasionally give a small whine if he would like to meet another dog — but he is extremely manageable and redirects easily with calm guidance.
He can alert bark when guests arrive — a built-in doorbell.
Once welcomed inside, he quickly becomes the cuddly, affectionate host.
Kevin has made fantastic progress and thrives with clear structure and consistent expectations. He is not letting his previous life define him and is ready to continue moving forward.
🐕 Other Animals
Dogs: Dog friendly. Kevin prefers calm, polite introductions — a gentleman’s sniff and moment to assess. He has never displayed aggression but appreciates respectful canine manners.
Chickens: Has lived with chickens and shown no interest; however, we recommend keeping separated for safety.
Cats: Reported to have lived with cats; meet and greet required prior to adoption.
👨👩👧👦 Children
Kevin absolutely adores children. However, as he hasn’t lived with very young children, we are setting him up for success and recommending:
No children under 5 years old.
✂️ Grooming
Kevin is low shedding, consistent with his breed. He may benefit from professional grooming once or twice per year, or regular home clipping if you’re confident — he’s more than happy to cooperate.
🩺 Health & Exercise
Kevin shows no current health issues and is in great condition.
He is a medium–high energy dog who enjoys:
Brisk daily walks
Off-leash play in safe, enclosed areas (no dog parks)
Engaging toy play and enrichment
Kevin has previously shown a sensitivity to excessive chicken consumption, which resulted in some mild fur thinning around his eyes. Once chicken intake was reduced, the issue resolved completely. With a balanced diet and monitored protein sources, he does very well.
🏡 Ideal Home
Kevin would thrive in a home that:
Enjoys an affectionate, people-oriented dog
Provides structure and consistency
Understands food management (benches are not buffets 😉)
Is happy to continue reinforcing his excellent training
Has another dog for company and play.
He would suit a family or individual looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a cheeky streak and a huge heart.
If you’re looking for a devoted, cuddly, slightly mischievous best mate who will greet you like a celebrity every single day… Kevin might just be your guy 💛🐾
