About Storm
If you're searching for a sweet little ball of cuddles and kisses, Stormi is your girl.
Storm is an exceptionally friendly, affectionate cat who absolutely adores her people. She's not a lap cat as such. Instead, she'll press her whole body against you, sleep tucked beside your pillow, and gently demand kisses like it's part of her daily routine (because in her mind, it is).
She's very social and gets along well with both humans and other cats. Her nature is soft, trusting and loving. She's the kind of cat who wants to be involved in whatever you're doing, especially if it involves affection.
Stormi is also incredibly resilient. She has undergone an ear amputation and a full mouth extraction without ever complaining (more detail in medical section below). After spending over 100 days in the pound as a “long termer” before even coming into the care of OOTW, she truly deserves the most devoted forever home.
She arrived at the pound as a community stray mum. Her babies were adopted long ago, but Stormi was left behind. Since coming into our care, we've worked carefully through her medical needs, ensuring she is pain free and thriving and she now has full medical clearance. Everything is resolved or well managed, and she’s ready for her next chapter.
Stormi takes meal times very seriously. In fact, she has developed the most endearing habit of escorting her human to her food bowl and requesting supervision (and kisses between bites). It’s non-negotiable. She likes moral support.
Her favourite things:
- Sunbathing in warm patches of light
- Watching bird videos and gazing out the window
- The thrill of chasing a rogue fly
- Sleeping beside her humans
- Giving (and receiving) endless kisses
Stormi is the definition of gentle companionship. She’s affectionate without being demanding, brave and loving in the most genuine way. After everything she’s been through, Stormi is so ready for a calm, caring home where she can soak up sunshine, cuddles, and all the kisses she can possibly give.
If you're looking for a devoted little shadow who will stick by your side (and supervise her dinner with you), Stormi is waiting.
Medical notes
Stomatitis
Storm was diagnosed with stomatitis, a condition that causes severe inflammation of the mouth’s mucous membranes and can be very painful for cats. In December 2025, she underwent a full mouth dental extraction as part of her treatment. The procedure was successful, and Storm has recovered well. She is comfortable, eating normally, and showing no ongoing signs of oral pain or discomfort. At this stage, her condition is well managed following surgery and she is doing great.
Ear Amputation
Storm previously suffered from a severe ear infection that presented with unusual growths that were causing her significant pain. The infection was unresponsive to multiple medical treatments. On veterinary advice, a partial ear amputation was recommended and performed to remove the affected tissue and provide relief. The amputation does not impact her hearing, comfort, or quality of life.
Suspected Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex (EGC)
Storm has previously experienced lesions on her lips consistent with suspected Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex (EGC). Our veterinarians have advised that EGC is commonly associated with hypersensitivity or allergic reactions. In Storm’s case, the lesions responded well to steroid treatment and resolved. While she is currently symptom-free, this condition can recur, and our vets have recommended that her future veterinarian be made aware of her history so it can be monitored and managed promptly if needed.
Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
