About Melanie
đ¸Meet Melanie - A Refined Lady Ready for Her Retirement Home đ¸
Melanie is a 9âyearâold domestic short hair with a beautiful tabbyâandâwhite coat and an air of quiet sophistication. She's reached the stage in life where she knows exactly what she wants: comfort, calm, and a home that appreciates her gentle, queenâlike presence.
Her Ideal Lifestyle:
⢠Melanie is happy to receive visits from children, provided they understand that all royal audiences must eventually conclude.
⢠She values having her own space to slip away to when she's had enough social time.
⢠She enjoys curling up on a warm lap, but only when she decides the moment is right - and she expects that lap to be exclusively hers during her stay.
Her Credentials:
⢠Fully vaccinated
⢠Upâtoâdate parasite treatment
⢠Litter trained and wonderfully tidy
Melanie is the perfect match for someone seeking a calm, affectionate companion who brings a touch of elegance to everyday life. If you're ready to offer a peaceful retirement home to a cat who knows her worth, Melanie may be your girl.
To book a meet and greet with Melanie please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
