With her gorgeous Border Collie smile and her love of life and fun this girl is a complete package.
introducing our beautiful and lively Border Collie girl, Leia. At just 15 months old, she is an absolute joy to have as a companion, bringing endless fun and energy into any household.
Her youthful exuberance is matched by her affectionate nature, making her a delightful addition to any family.
Please note Leia is very dog social but will be rehomed as an only dog as when she is residing with another dog she can become very bossy and dominant in the home.
Leia has a few favorite activities that she simply cannot get enough of. She absolutely loves going on walks, where she can explore the world around her and burn off some of that boundless energy. Another one of her cherished pastimes is playing chase games and Tag with her doggy friends.
She thrives on the interaction and excitement that comes with a good game of chase, making her a perfect playmate for other energetic dogs.
When it comes to interacting with humans, Leia is a friendly and sociable girl. She enjoys spending time with people and is always eager to receive a gentle pat or a scratch behind the ears. She would love it if her family worked from home for some of the week. She loves company but also able to be independent
She loves being your companion on long walks, where she can bond with you while enjoying the great outdoors. Despite her energetic nature, Leia is not overly jumpy, making her a pleasant and well-mannered companion.
In terms of obedience and training, Leia is still in the process of learning her basic commands, as she is still quite young. She has already mastered a few commands such as sit, come, and out. Her eagerness to learn and develop her skills is evident, and with continued training, she is sure to become even more obedient and well-behaved.
Leia’s social skills with other dogs have been polite . She has interacted well with the dogs she has met, particularly those that are calm and friendly. She is always keen to engage in a game of chase, showcasing her playful and sociable nature.
When it comes to independence, Leia is capable of being left alone if you have to go to work. Initially, she may bark a bit, but she is settling into her routine and becoming more comfortable with being alone.
She is fully toilet trained. At night, Leia sleeps in the sunroom on her bed, without making a sound. Her calm demeanor during bedtime ensures a restful night for everyone in the household.
Leia is also a great traveler when it comes to car rides. She handles car travel well, making her an ideal companion for trips and adventures.
Being a Border Collie, Leia requires regular exercise and mental stimulation to keep her happy and healthy. She enjoys a long daily walk , although she may pull if something particularly interesting catches her attention. She is improving with her leash walking skills Inside the home, Leia is calm and well-behaved, inside the home although she is still supervised inside the house
She will settle on her mat for rest
Adoption Criteria
The ideal home for Leia would be with an active family who is familiar with the needs of working breeds. She would thrive in an environment where she is an only dog and has an active outdoorsy family
She’s happy for furry friends outside the home but just not to live with as she gets a little bossy
A home with a mini medium-sized, secure yard would be perfect for her to explore and play in. Additionally, a family committed to ongoing training would be ideal to help Leia continue developing her skills and obedience.
We have not tested her with cats
Children in the home are fine but we are seeking mature age dog savvy children if they are in residence
Leia will come with her own bed
