Meet Sylvia, an adorable feline with a heart as gentle as her purr is loud.

Sylvia is a sweetheart who needs a calm and compassionate home and a little bit of time to come out of her shell. But once she feels safe and cherished, she blossoms into a cuddly companion ready to share her affection.

Her previous life had been one of neglect at the hands of those who should have provided for and loved her. She lived a life, spent confined to a tiny and dirty cage with another cat. Unable to express any basic feline behaviours, and unable to run, stretch or play.

She has been under our care for a month now, and is only just beginning to learn the meaning of fun. But in time with the love of a family, we know she will be able to find her inner kitten again.

Sylvia is a food lover and will likely be your little shadow during mealtime. Although initially shy, she can relax and take catnaps in the comfort of a loving environment. Her zoomies at 3 a.m. can provide unexpected entertainment, as she prances about the home. She’s shown a little interest in a few toys, revealing early signs of a potentially playful personality.

She’s been exposed to dogs, cats, and children in her foster home making her a suitable pet for homes with other housemates, but a busy environment is likely to slow her development considerably. She thrives in a peaceful atmosphere. Her ideal sanctuary includes a cozy, secure spot, such as a cocoon bed, where she can curl up for a nap and she will seek out her family for a pat and a purr once she feels at home.

With the right family, Sylvia’s nervous nature will give way to her powerhouse purrs. We can’t wait to see her thrive in a home where she can finally find peace in her happy place.
