About Bud
Meet Bud – the least “working” Blue Cattle Dog you’ll ever meet.
Bud is a handsome young Blue Cattle Dog, born 29 December 2024, with the classic good looks the breed is famous for — a big square head, sturdy build and that gorgeous speckled coat that makes Blues so unmistakable.
Now, before the cattle dog purists get too excited, there’s something you should know…
Bud may technically be a Blue Cattle Dog, but he appears to have misplaced the cattle.
According to his foster mum, Bud is a hopeless guard dog. He doesn’t bark, he doesn’t patrol the perimeter, and if a burglar came through the door Bud would most likely greet them enthusiastically and attempt to lick them to death.
He absolutely adores people — everyone is his friend. He loves other dogs too and is such a social butterfly that he’d probably be delighted to meet a cat.
Bud is incredibly affectionate and very people-focused. What he really wants in life is simple: a comfy spot beside his humans and plenty of attention.
Despite his breed, Bud is quite the low-energy lounge lizard most of the time. Once he settles in, he’s happiest snuggled next to you on the couch soaking up cuddles and companionship.
That said, Bud still has his young dog moments. He enjoys a burst of puppy play and activity, walks nicely on lead and would happily join you for a couple of daily walks followed by a romp around the backyard.
Bud’s ideal home will have secure fencing, someone around for much of the time, and ideally a friendly canine companion who’d enjoy a bit of playtime with him.
If Bud ever did show an interest in cattle, it would probably be the ones on television… or perhaps in a movie with a farm scene.
In short, Bud is a delightful, friendly, super-snuggly young dog who simply wants to be your best friend.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion with good looks, a sweet temperament and a very relaxed attitude to traditional cattle dog duties, Bud may be the boy for you.
