About Madden
⚠️ Assisted Rehoming
Madden is an 11 year-old Smooth coat Scotch collie , with a sweet, gentle nature.
He was previously trained as a service dog and has now retired .
Madden is in his 3rd home and has settled well but sadly their circumstances have changed and can no longer provide him a home.
Madden's temperament and behaviour:
- Very gentle and affectionate
- Great with children
- Good with other dogs, though he tires easily if they want to play for long
- Doesn’t pull on the lead and is very easy to walk
Exercise needs:
- Low to moderate; he’s happiest with short walks 🐾; typically 10–15 minutes is his comfortable limit before he starts to tire
Housetrained ✔️
Health:
- Desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations
- No major medical issues — his only vet visits with his current home have been for routine vaccinations
- Has some food allergies (especially chicken - cleaning up his diet has helped a lot)
- Pets Park calming /anxiety powder daily (as Madden does get worried with storms and wears a Thundershirt to help him cope)
⚠️ Assisted rehoming ⚠️
This is an assisted rehoming which means that Animals In Need Brisbane (AINB) will advertise, contact applicants and pass on applications that meet the the criteria to the owner who will make the final decision on the rehoming of the animal. AINB may also be requested to undertake an inspection of the successful applicants property to confirm safety and suitability.
There is no adoption fee for assisted rehomings but we do ask for a donation from the successful applicant (of their choosing) to AINB in recognition of the administrative and time costs incurred.
⚠️ Please include all relevant information in your application, including fencing, other pets, children and ages etc.
Medical notes
Some food allergies, managed through diet
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
