About Cookie
Introducing Cookie!
Cookie is a Jack Russell x born 30th June 2025.
Cookie & his sister Spot have been surrendered to the facility as their owner is currently homeless & had nowhere for them to go. His surrender profile states; he's still learning to be house trained, he's friendly with dogs, cats, kids & adult strangers. He has no anxiety issues & he travels well in the car.
Since being at the facility Cookie has made everyone fall in love with him. He's such a little character, so excitable & affectionate. He's not as excited about toys as his sister, but he still has fun with them.
Cookie tested well with other dogs, both male & female. While his favourite dog is his sister, he's been quite happy to meet others as well. He also didn't react when he had a 1.5kg Chihuahua trying to eat him. We believe Cookie could be rehomed with another dog or be the spoilt only "child" at home. If you have a friendly dog at home, we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home, alternatively, he can be rehomed with his sister Spot.
Cookie seemed to be quite happy to meet our resident cat until he got smacked across the face and he started screaming as though he was being tortured. He then started barking at her while trying to back out of the room.
Cookie was a little too excited to meet our resident rooster, then started barking at him. We believe he would be best suited to a home with no pocket pets.
He still has so much to learn about the world and would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family. Cookie will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Cookie has shown mild signs of separation anxiety since being at the facility but no signs of food aggression towards humans or his sister.
Cookie's adoption fee is $1250 and includes his desexing & lifetime registration.
Cookie is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
