About Spot
Introducing Spot!
Spot is a Jack Russell x born 30th June 2025.
Spot & her brother Cookie have been surrendered to the facility as their owner is currently homeless & had nowhere for them to go. Her surrender profile states; she's still learning to be house trained, she's friendly with dogs, cats, kids & adult strangers. She has no anxiety issues & she travels well in the car.
Since being at the facility Spot has shown all staff & volunteers just how lovable, playful & sweet she is. She's obsessed with toys, loves to wrestle her brother & she will climb into your lap for kisses at every possible moment.
Spot tested well with other dogs, both male & female. While her favourite dog is her brother, she's been quite happy to meet others as well. We believe Spot could be rehomed with another dog or be the spoilt only "child" at home.
If you have a friendly dog at home, we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home, alternatively, she can be rehomed with her brother Cookie.
Spot seemed to have a healthy respect for our resident cat & seemed mostly uninterested in our rooster. We believe that she could be suitable to live with small animals if given a slow & contolled introduction to them.
She still has so much to learn about the world and would love to be in a home where she is included as a member of the family. Spot will thrive in an environment that guides her with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Spot has shown no signs of food aggression towards humans or her brother.
Spot has shown signs of separation anxiety while at facility, even when she's with her brother. We feel she would be best suited to a home where someone can be with her more often than not.
Spot's adoption fee is $1250 and includes her desexing & lifetime registration.
Spot is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with her vaccinations.

Spot is looking forward to meeting you & she is located in East Maitland.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
