About Lady
🐾 Meet Lady 🐾
Lady is a 2 year and 5 months old Dachshund
Lady has come into care through no fault of her own and is now ready to find a forever home that will adore her just as much as she’ll adore them.
When she first arrived, this little sausage was carrying a bit too much extra love (over 12kg!), but thanks to her dedicated foster carer, she’s now a much healthier 9.3kg and feeling fabulous. She’s not a guts when it comes to food and is more than happy enjoying healthy meals to keep her on track.
🐶 Training & Manners
Lady is a clever girl who is:
✔️ Toilet trained
✔️ Doggy door savvy
✔️ Crate trained
She has the basics well and truly covered and is a lovely, easy little companion in the home.
⚡ Energy & Personality
Lady is an energetic little dashie who enjoys her daily walks (1–2km is perfect for her). She walks nicely on lead but can get a little distracted if she spots another dog, cat, or bird — typical curious Dachshund behaviour!
She can bark when meeting new people and may give the classic side-eye with a little under-the-breath “mumble,” but once she knows you, she loves fiercely and wholeheartedly. She forms strong bonds with her humans and quickly becomes the sweetest little shadow.
🏡 Social Life
• Likes kids and would be happy in a home with respectful children, but she would also thrive in an adults-only home.
• Has lived with other small dogs and enjoys playing, though she does require slow and proper introductions.
• Settles better when left alone if she has doggy company.
• Not suitable for homes with cats or small animals.
Lady could be an only dog if her humans are around often, but she would also enjoy the company of a calm, friendly small dog.
💕 Her Favourite Things
• Cuddles on the couch
• Sitting on your lap
• Being close to her people
• Healthy treats (in moderation to support her continued weight-loss journey!)
She sleeps happily on her own bed but would much prefer to spend her waking hours curled up beside you.
✨ The Perfect Home
Lady would suit a home that understands the loyal, slightly sassy nature of a Dachshund. She may be wary at first, but once she feels safe, you’ll have a devoted, affectionate, and very snuggly best friend for life.
If you’re looking for a loving lap companion, a loyal little shadow, and a sweet girl who will adore her humans with her whole heart — Lady might just be your perfect match. 💛🐾

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
