Adoption information
About Chester
Chester is a male Domestic Medium Hair cat available for adoption in Flemington (Melbourne, Victoria).
Apartment-suited, people-loving and beautifully interactive, Chester is the kind of cat who runs to the door when you get home. He doesn’t just live in your space — he shares it with you.
If you enjoy a cat who follows you from room to room and wants to be involved in your day, Chester will feel like a natural companion.
A little about Chester:
🐾 Indoor & apartment experienced
🐾 Loves human company
🐾 Enjoys play and daily interaction
🐾 Comfortable as a solo cat (may suit a feline friend)
🐾 Balcony bird-watching enthusiast
With familiar people, Chester is warm and affectionate. He greets you with happy meows, rubs around your legs and often purrs beside you at bedtime. He’s not usually a lap cat — he prefers to sit next to you — but when he does choose your lap, it feels like a special honour.
Around new people, he may briefly retreat at first sight. Almost immediately, though, curiosity wins. He returns to investigate, sniff and rub up against visitors. Living on a ground-floor balcony, he’s used to interacting gently with passers-by and happily accepts pats through the railing.
Chester thrives on company. He enjoys following you around the apartment and being where the action is. That said, he’s comfortable being left alone during the day — provided he gets meaningful interaction and playtime when you’re home.
His days are a lovely rhythm of balcony bird-watching, chasing hair ties, zoomies, dinner, brushing and evening wind-downs beside you. He chirps excitedly when spotting insects and will even come running if you say the word “bug,” ready for a hunt.
Play is important for Chester. When he’s had a chance to burn off energy, he’s content and settled. Without it, he may try to initiate play more enthusiastically. A home that understands the value of daily interactive play will see the very best of him.
If you appreciate an affectionate, engaged cat who wants to share life alongside you — not necessarily on top of you — Chester may be exactly your pace.
In a home where he has companionship, enrichment and a bit of balcony sunshine, Chester will offer loyalty, purrs and joyful door greetings every single day.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
