About Mars

Mars is at his happiest when he’s hanging out with his people. He adores head scratches and will happily roll over to invite belly rubs when he’s feeling relaxed and content. Sofa time or bed cuddles are his favourite parts of the day and he’ll do happy rolls to show his excitement before curling up beside you for a cuddle.
He has plenty of energy for playtime too. He can happily entertain himself by zooming around the house, climbing his scratching post and batting around toys. One of his most unique quirks is his love of socks - which he'll carry in his mouth like a prize.
When he’s not playing or snuggling, he loves finding a good spot by the window to watch the world go by.
Mars is very communicative and will let you know when it’s dinner time or if he wants to hang out with an enthusiastic meow. He also has a unique way of walking down the hallway, ensuring you always hear the pitter patter of his feet when he's on his way to hang out.
Mars gets along beautifully with other cats and has a more submissive nature, making him a wonderful companion in a multi-cat household, particularly with those who might want a friend to play with! He is looking for a home with a friendly resident cat for companionship or could be adopted with another cat.

Medical notes
Mars has Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD). It’s a manageable lifelong condition that affects the bladder and can make peeing uncomfortable during flare-ups. Most cats with FLUTD live completely normal lives with simple management such as a specialised urinary diet, access to plenty of fresh water, and a calm/stress-free home.
Adopters will just need to keep an eye on his litter tray habits and seek vet care if he ever seems to strain or can’t pass urine. He’s otherwise healthy, happy and able to live a full, normal life with the right care.

Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
