Kobe is an affectionate boy with a playful nature. He will be timid and shy at first, but once he feels safe, his true personality blossoms. He becomes a loyal companion, a soft shadow at your side. He loves being close to his favorite person, seeking a snuggle and will even climb onto your lap for quiet affection. You can hear him purr when he has your attention and will answer your call.
🎮 Play & Curiosity
Once in his comfort zone, he is lively, alert, and interested in his environment. He moves with purpose and enjoys exploring but prefers you within his sight. His favorite spot is the cat pedestal where he can observe his surroundings.
He’s playful and loves wand toys. He engages happily in action play with you but also loves to chase a toy mouse on his own.
He is moderately active and laid‑back — the perfect balance for a home that wants a playful but calm companion.
🧡 Ideal Home
Kobe thrives with gentle energy. He can be nervous around older or assertive cats, so he could share a home with a friendly feline (a sweet-natured female would be ideal). He will enjoy interacting with children when approached gently at his pace. He has not been tested with dogs.
He’s an easy little guy to care for – an unfussy eater who tucks in to any good-quality cat food. He also enjoys being brushed and is comfortable having his nails clipped. He has recently learned to use the cardboard scratch pads instead of carpets.

Adoption details
Our adoption process is as follows:
1. Submit an adoption application via our website at www.rescuecatsofmelbourne.com.au/adopt
2. We will be in touch with you within 48 hours if we wish to progress your application.
3. A meet and greet will then be organised so that you can meet your potential new family member!
4. Upon a successful meet and greet, an adoption day will be set for you to come and collect your new family member and sign all required paperwork
All of our cats come de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, worm treated and with a clean bill of health.
Our 10-Day Health Guarantee: We want you to feel confident in your new family member’s health. We offer a 10-day cooling-off period specifically for health-related concerns. If your kitten shows signs of a pre-existing illness (such as a respiratory infection or parasite) within the first 10 days of arriving home, please contact us immediately. During this window, you have the option to return the kitten for a full refund or work with our rescue team to ensure the kitten receives the necessary care. We are committed to transparency and the wellbeing of our cats.
