About 🧙 Hermione
✨ A Little Character in Calico Fur
Much like her namesake from Harry Potter, this Hermione is clever, curious, and always ready for adventure. She’s a stunning calico girl with a magical patchwork coat and the most enchanting blue eyes; bright, observant, and full of mischief.
📚 She may not carry books to the library, but she does carry toys proudly around the house like prized magical artefacts.
🪄 Her Favourite “Spells”
Hermione has clearly mastered a few charms already:
🧙 Climbiosa! – Scaling cat trees and furniture with the confidence of a first-year arriving at Hogwarts.
🧙 Pouncio! – Toy mice beware — she takes her Defence Against the Dark Arts very seriously.
🧙 Baggarum Hideaway! – The pile of Woolworths paper bags is her personal Room of Requirement. She adores the crinkling sound and will dive in, scratch, hide, and dramatically reappear as if she’s just emerged from Platform 9¾.
🚫 Her One True Nemesis
Every hero has a villain — and Hermione’s is the vacuum cleaner.
It’s loud, suspicious, and clearly aligned with dark forces. She prefers to keep a safe distance from that particular “creature.”
🏰 Life at Home (Her Hogwarts)
Hermione treats the house like her castle grounds. She zooms from room to room on important “missions,” then suddenly appears on the lounge for a quick cuddle, as if reporting back to Professor McGonagall, before dashing off again.
When she first arrived in foster care, she was quiet and reserved, carefully observing her surroundings (very first-year-at-Hogwarts energy). Now, she has blossomed into a confident, affectionate little adventurer who happily comes over to say hello while her humans watch TV.
👨👩👧👦 With Muggles (Humans)
Hermione has loved every adult she has met so far. She hasn’t yet encountered children, but given her outgoing and affectionate personality, she would likely thrive with kind, respectful young witches and wizards who are ready to play.
She enjoys interaction but also has the independence to entertain herself between cuddle breaks, the perfect balance of brains and bravery.
🐱🐶 Magical Creatures
Hermione happily plays with a 4-year-old resident cat and would do wonderfully in a home with another feline friend. Ideally, her companion would be young or playful, she has a lot of energy and may be a bit much for an older, more “retired professor” type of cat.
She hasn’t actively played with the small dog in the home yet, as the dog is quite excitable. With calm introductions and a gentle temperament, she would likely adapt.
🏡 Her Ideal Wizarding World
Hermione would thrive in:
✔️A home with children or young adults who have time for daily play sessions
✔️A household with another playful cat companion
✔️An environment full of enrichment, climbing spaces, and interactive toys
🌟 She has transformed beautifully during her time in foster care, from quiet and cautious to confident and cuddly. Like any great hero, she simply needed the chance to believe in herself.
If you’re ready to welcome a clever, affectionate, adventure-loving little Gryffindor into your home, Hermione is waiting to cast a lifelong loyalty spell on your heart. 🪄💛

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption enquiry should be made via
https://form.jotform.com/shellys.place.rescue/adoption-enquiry
2. Once your application has been received, one of our volunteers will contact you for a phone interview. This is to determine whether one of our cats or kittens will be a good fit for your home. We all want long-term success in placing rescue animals, so finding the best fit for the animal AND the family is very important.
3. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place if the application is approved.
4. A property check will take place via a video. Once this has been successfully completed, adoption paperwork finalised and the adoption donation processed, the pet can be collected from foster care.
5. A 14 day settling-in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster care.
6. Adoption is finalised after 14 days. Paperwork/records will be included in an adoption pack.
7. All animals will be rehomed desexed, 1st vaccinated, microchipped and treated monthly for fleas and intestinal worms. Once the adoption is finalised, the new owners are responsible for all vaccinations and preventative treatments.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your enquiry as soon as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
