Meet Izzy, a beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd x Kelpie who is searching for a loving new family to call her own. Her graceful demeanor and intelligent eyes speak volumes about her kind heart and loyal spirit. Though initially shy around strangers, especially men, Izzy quickly forms deep, unwavering bonds with those who take the time to understand her. Once she feels safe and reassured, she becomes a devoted and affectionate companion eager to be a part of your daily life.

Izzy is mat-trained, which has been invaluable in managing her anxiety and helping her settle into new environments. Her routine thrives on consistency, and she’s accustomed to sleeping in a dog crate or bed indoors at night or on a cozy covered deck. A calm household without young children would suit Izzy best, as she tends to be indifferent and distant when children are around. Her ideal home includes a secure backyard where she can have the freedom to explore and relax when left alone for short periods.

Walking with Izzy is a work in progress; she is still mastering her leash manners, especially around other dogs. Her perfect habitat is a spacious property, perhaps with a farm or large garden, where she doesn’t have to rely solely on walks for exercise. While she is reactive toward small dogs, she shares great companionship with larger, calm dogs and is comfortable cohabiting with cats.

Her intelligence and food motivation make her a prime candidate for ongoing training and mental enrichment. Izzy isn't too concerned with toys but loves to learn new tricks, engage in close interactions with her human friends, and never turns down a good cuddle.

Izzy has particular dietary needs due to her sensitive stomach, so she thrives on a specially balanced low-fat diet. She enjoys her twice-daily feedings, which includes kibble, vet-recommended food, and healthy treats like carrots, cucumber, berries, and apple.

Izzy was welcomed into her family in 2025, and they have faced the heart-wrenching decision to find her a new home where she can thrive due to no fault of her own and as a result of her families need to relocate.

As an assisted rehome, we are here to support her current family as they facilitate meet and greets with potential adopters. Our goal is to ensure a smooth transition for Izzy and help her find a loving new family.
