About Stampy
Meet Stampy – Our Joyful Baby Elephant 🐘💛
Affectionately known as our “baby elephant,” Stampy is a big, lanky Bull Arab mix who approaches life with boundless curiosity and a permanently happy smile. She greets the world — and everyone in it — with an enthusiastic wiggly butt and a friendly slap from her dinner-plate-sized paws. Personal space? Never heard of it. Love? She has plenty to give.
Stampy arrived into our care on Christmas Day from a very rural pound, and she has embraced her second chance at life with pure joy. While she’s already a big girl (and still growing!), she is very much still a puppy. She’s learning that mouthing and jumping aren’t ideal ways to show excitement — but once she gets that initial burst of enthusiasm out of her system, she transforms into the biggest, softest baby.
She absolutely adores attention: pats, belly rubs, kisses, cuddles — the full VIP treatment. When it’s not party time, Stampy settles beautifully. She can be calm, relaxed, and content in her own company, happily snoozing after a play session.
Her days are made up of short bursts of playful, slightly uncoordinated puppy energy followed by long, satisfied naps. It’s a rhythm that suits her perfectly.
Ideal Home 🏡
Stampy is looking for a home with a bit of space where she can stretch her long legs. Due to her size and breed mix, she would be best suited to a family with some large dog or bully breed experience. She thrives when she’s truly included — outings, family time, adventures, even holidays. Being close to her people helps her feel secure, settled, and confident.
She is still learning, and her future family will need to be committed to ongoing training and guidance so she grows into not only a wonderful canine citizen but also a proud ambassador for rescue dogs everywhere.
Energy Level 🌿
Stampy has a moderate energy level. She LOVES getting out for bush walks, adventures, and a good run, but she doesn’t have endless stamina. After a solid outing, she’s more than happy to kick back, relax, and enjoy some downtime with her people.
Suitability with Children 👨👩👧
Stampy hasn’t had extensive exposure to children. While she considers every human she meets a friend, she is a large, growing girl who is still learning not to jump or mouth when excited. She could easily (and unintentionally) knock over smaller children, so she would be best suited to a home with kids in the double digits who understand boundaries and big-dog energy.
Suitability with Dogs & Cats 🐶🐱
Stampy is playful with her dog friends. She can be silly and sometimes a bit much at first, but she is capable of adjusting her play style to match others — she just needs a moment to figure it out. She could live with another dog, ideally one confident enough to handle her size and energy — potentially a well-matched male.
She has not been formally tested with cats. However, in a home able to provide slow introductions, separation, and careful management while everyone gets to know each other, it may be possible.
Stampy is a big-hearted, joyful, slightly goofy girl who is ready to take up space in your home and your heart. If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy who doubles as a giant cuddle bug, Stampy might just be your perfect match. 💛🐾
