About Freddy
Freddy will be one of the stars of the show at our next adoption day (21st and 22nd March at Pet O Northland)! Follow us on Instagram @sugarandspicecatrescue for details of upcoming events. And if you pre-apply to adopt, you might even be able to take your new best friend home on the day! 💜
😸 Must be adopted with a kitten friend, or into a family that already has a cat or two
🐶 Untested with dogs, but would likely be fine with a slow introduction
👶🏻 Great with kids, as long as they're gentle and not overly loud
🏠 Strictly indoors only (a fully enclosed, professionally installed catio is fine)

Freddy is a striking ginger‑and‑white kitten with a bold streak and a whole lot of personality. He’s confident in his environment, curious about everything, and always ready to pounce on a toy, investigate a new corner, or show off his playful energy. Freddy has a spark that makes him stand out: he’s lively, clever, and full of kitten mischief.
At the same time, Freddy is still learning how he feels about humans. He can be feisty and a little wary, preferring to interact on his own terms and approach when he feels ready. He’s not the cuddly type just yet, but he’s very observant and slowly growing more comfortable with gentle, predictable interactions. With patience and a calm, steady home, Freddy will continue building trust and learning that people can be pretty great. If you’re looking for a spirited, good‑looking kitten with tons of potential and a big personality, Freddy might be the perfect match. 🧡🤍🐾

‼️ As with most kittens in a new environment or with new people, he may be slightly shy at first, but give him some time and treats and he's sure to come around.
If you'd like to meet him, please submit an application (see below) – the more information you can provide about your household, lifestyle and history with cats, the better 🤗
Medical notes
Freddy had an eye ulcer as a baby kitten, which has been treated and is being monitored. His eye has a somewhat "glassy" appearance as a result. We aren't sure whether there will be a lasting impact on his eyesight, but any vision issues he may be experiencing aren't slowing him down! 🥰
Adoption details
If interested in a cat that is available for adoption, we require you to fill out an adoption application, and one of our lovely foster carers will give you a call to organise a time for a meet and greet.
Please note: As we are all volunteers with limited time up our sleeves, we prefer all interested potential adopters to fill out an application, rather than send an enquiry, as this helps us know more about you and what you are after, and saves us all a lot of time!
