About Kiko
Hello, my name is Kiko!
I'm a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo with a very long life story. I've been lovingly cared for by my mum for over 50 years, but sadly, she's now unable to continue looking after me. I'm searching for a very special new home where I can spend the rest of my life feeling safe, secure, and cherished.
I do tend to prefer female carers and would do best with someone experienced in parrot care who can offer patience, understanding, and consistent companionship. Big life changes can be overwhelming for a bird like me, but I'm already starting to show little glimpses of my true personality - I've begun coming out of my shell, saying "hello," and chatting away in some adorable little bits of gibberish that we're still trying to translate!
Once I'm settled into a loving home, I will truly blossom. I'm quite the conversationalist and love long chats with my favourite people. With time and trust, you'll discover just how much personality I have to share.
I'm native to the eastern states of Australia, so my new owner will need to hold a Fauna Possessing (Pet Keeper's) Licence and have a completed and approved Restricted Bird Licence (DPIRD) to welcome me home.
I absolutely love corn, and as you get to know me, you'll discover plenty of other treats and little things that make me happy.
If you're an experienced bird lover with the right licences and a quiet, caring home, I would love to meet you and start my next chapter by your side.
Love,
Kiko
