Meet Captain – a tiny hero with the soul of a warrior and the sweetest little face you’ve ever seen.
This handsome Domestic Short Hair boy is fully ginger with the most adorable and unique tiny black speck on his face – like a little beauty mark that makes him extra special. It’s his signature look… his “captain’s mark” 🖤✨
But Captain Ginger’s story didn’t start easy.
Born alone under someone’s house, this brave little boy raised himself for the first three months of his life. No warm bed. No steady meals. No cuddles. Just survival. Somehow, this tiny captain navigated the world on his own until he came into the pound on 9/2 as an unmicrochipped lost soul.
Despite everything he’s been through, Captain Ginger has the gentlest heart. 💛
He’s still a little shy with humans – who could blame him? – but he is never aggressive, only cautious. Give him patience and kindness, and you’ll see the sweetest boy begin to shine.
Where he truly blossoms is with other cats. 🐱💕
He absolutely adores feline friends and gains confidence from them. He will need a friendly, confident resident cat in his new home to guide him and show him that the world is safe now. Having a kitty companion isn’t just preferred – it’s essential for this little captain to thrive.
He’s learning that soft beds, full bowls, and gentle hands are his new normal… and he’s doing beautifully. Watching him grow in confidence is something truly special. 🌱✨
Captain Ginger will be ready for adoption from 17/2 after completing his impound time.

He must go to a home with an existing indoor cat to grow up alongside.

Adoption details
Call Queanbeyan Council on 1300 735 025 to be transferred through to an Animal care Officer that works at the facility. The animal care officer will take your details, send you an application form and if suitable make contact to book in a meet and greet at the facility with the desired pet.
Adoption fee cost:
When you purchase the animal they will either be desexed or the cost of desexing will be included in the fee. You will receive a voucher to take to a local vet to have the animal operated on. All animals adopted from our animal management facility receive free lifetime registration in NSW.
