About Lucy
Lucy is a beautiful tan Beagle cross, born 1 February 2017, with a heart full of love and devotion for her people. She forms very strong bonds and thrives on close companionship, making her the perfect match for someone looking for a deeply loyal, affectionate best friend. She weighs 20 kgs.
Lucy absolutely adores being with her humans—whether it’s relaxing nearby, soaking up pats or quietly watching over her family. And she loves children!
She has a naturally protective streak and takes her role as a companion very seriously. One touching example of her gentle devotion is how she quietly sat beside her foster carer’s husband during a nightmare, calmly staying with him until he settled before returning to her own bed. She is incredibly intuitive and deeply bonded to “her” people.
Lucy is currently living in a multi-dog household and is fine with dogs her own size or bigger. However, because she bonds so strongly and prefers one-on-one attention, she can become protective of her special person around other dogs. For this reason, she would be happiest and most relaxed as the only pet in the home, where she can enjoy all the love and attention without feeling the need to compete for it.
She is house-trained, settles well in a crate, and travels nicely in the car. Lucy walks well on lead and enjoys being part of daily life — she happily follows her foster mum around the house while the chores are being done, just content to be involved. She is currently living with a resident cat and shows little interest unless the cat runs — and even then, she’s far too slow to catch him!
Lucy would make a wonderful companion for someone in their golden years who is looking for a devoted, affectionate dog to share their days. She enjoys having her own comfortable sleeping space close to her people and is happiest when she can simply be part of everyday home life.
If you are searching for a loyal, loving, protective companion who will truly bond deeply and faithfully with you, Lucy may be the perfect match.
