Dougie is a wonderfully handsome boy with legs for days and a personality to match. Full of character, confidence and cheeky charm, Dougie's a clever little guy who is already showing what an incredible companion he’ll grow into.
Dougie is in foster care with another male dog, and absolutely adores him. He loves to play and wrestle, and they’ve even been caught snoozing together in the one dog bed. Dougie would thrive in a home with another tolerant, playful dog who enjoys the company of a young pup full of beans and ready for fun.
Dougie’s doing beautifully with his toilet training, confidently using the doggie door to take himself outside, and is fantastic at entertaining himself. Whether it’s playing independently with his toys, stretching out in the sunshine, or snoozing in his crate or beside me nearby while you work from home, Dougie is happy to keep himself occupied. At night, he has learned to self-soothe and settles calmly in his crate. He would love a home with lots of human company at least while he settles in to his new family.
Dougie already sits on command, has lovely manners at meal times, and is incredibly affectionate. He loves a cuddle just as much as he loves playtime. Like any young pup, he will need ongoing training and guidance, and he hasn’t yet ventured out on lead into the big wide world.
With his adorable ears, long gangly legs and confident, loving nature, Dougie is going to make someone an amazing best mate. He just needs a home ready to continue his training and socialisation, provide structure, and give him plenty of love (and play!).

ADOPTION DETAILS
Before applying for a puppy, please remember that adopting a pup into your home is a huge commitment. Puppies require daily exercise, positive and varied socialisation (not just your existing dog), training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, family commitments, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Puppies will need someone who is home for most of the day with regular focused input, especially in those first six months after adoption. As your dog grows it will need enough space to run and play.
Our adoption process includes a meet-and-greet with you (and any dog already in your household, along with their vaccination card); a property check and a 2 week trial period to ensure your pup is the right fit for your home.
Adoption fee must be deposited electronically into our SAFE Bunbury bank account in full before adoption trial starts. SAFE Bunbury will arrange transfer of ownership on your pet's microchip once the trial period is completed.
To arrange sterilisation at 6 months old, a SAFE approved vet clinic (see below) should be selected:
Blair Street Veterinary Hospital, Bunbury
Busselton Veterinary Hospital, Busselton
Ninth Street Vet Clinic, Harvey
Halls Head Small Animal Clinic, Halls Head
Caryn Vet Hospital, Edgewater
Kingsley Veterinary Hospital, Kingsley
South Metropolitan TAFE Vet Clinic, Bentley (during semester)
Swan Veterinary Hospital, Midvale
Warnbro Veterinary Clinic,Warnbro
Albany Vet Hospital, Albany

Please ask us for more information on arranging sterilisation of your pet if you live outside the Bunbury area.
