About Princess (Prinny)
Meet Prinny – a gentle, cuddly, playful young girl looking for her forever home
Prinny is a beautiful young dog with a soft heart and a loving, family-friendly nature. Raised in a home with babies and young children, she has grown into a gentle, affectionate companion who truly shines around kids. While she happily greets adults with enthusiasm and a hopeful lean-in for pats, she instinctively dials things right down around children, showing just how intuitive and sweet she is.
At home, Prinny is a lovely mix of playful and relaxed. She enjoys pottering about, playing with her toys (her little hedgehog is a current favourite), and going for short walks, but she’s just as happy curling up on the couch or in her bed for naps and cuddles. She is fully toilet trained and not a big barker, but is very attached to her people and can whine when left alone. She has already shown progress in foster care (using the dog door and spending time in the yard independently), but she will need an adopter committed to building her confidence with gradual alone-time training and a predictable routine. A home with someone around most of the time would suit her best.
Prinny is a medium–high energy dog who enjoys regular short walks and playtime without needing marathon adventures. She has been very good on the lead so far and is friendly and polite in the neighbourhood, particularly toward children. She is interested in other dogs but not overly excitable, and she is happy to sniff and parallel walk. She has previously lived with cats, but in her first foster placement she was a little too keen to play chase with the resident cat. There was no aggression, but she would need a cat-savvy home with management and slow introductions. She can be a little startled by sudden loud noises, but generally settles quickly with reassurance.
Prinny is intelligent, eager to please, and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement, treats, and toys. She knows “sit,” is learning crate training, and is keen to continue building her skills with gentle, consistent guidance. Given her size and enthusiasm, some ongoing training and confidence-building will help her become the very best companion she can be.
Prinny eats well, maintains a healthy weight, and has no history of aggression or serious behavioural concerns. She has lived happily as a family dog, is social with people and other dogs, and does not show food aggression. She does not jump fences and has proven herself to be respectful within the home.
Prinny forms very strong bonds with “her person” and thrives when she has a predictable routine and clear structure. She enjoys calm, organised households where things are done in a consistent way, and she really values one-on-one time and connection with her human. Daily interaction, training games, and quiet together-time will mean the world to her.
Because of her sensitivity, intuition, and strong attachment to her people, Prinny could be an excellent candidate for a support or companion role for someone who would benefit from an emotionally attuned dog. She is gentle, observant, and naturally tuned in to her person’s moods, and she blossoms when she feels seen, understood, and included in daily life.
While she is good with children, Prinny’s happiest role is likely as a devoted companion to an adult or teen who can give her consistent attention, validation, and structured interaction. She would suit someone who enjoys involving their dog in daily routines and building a close, interactive bond.
Prinny is being surrendered through no fault of her own. Due to sudden changes in housing, financial pressure, rental restrictions, and a partner needing to work FIFO, her family can no longer provide the time, space, and care she deserves. This decision has been made with deep love and heartbreak, with Prinny’s wellbeing firmly at the centre.
Her ideal home would be a loving, stable environment with an outdoor space and regular short walks, ideally with someone home most of the time or able to work on her separation anxiety with gradual alone-time training. She would thrive with an experienced dog-owning family who can provide routine, gentle training, and lots of affection. With a bit of stability after recent upheaval, Prinny will blossom into a loyal, devoted, and wonderfully fun companion.
Prinny is a truly wonderful dog who deserves a secure future filled with love, routine, and kindness. She’s ready to give her whole heart to the right home – and she has a lot of love to give. 💛
