About Nellie
Meet Nellie, a sweet and gentle Maremma with a loyal, independent nature.
Nellie would suit an adult or teen household, ideally with someone experienced in guardian breeds or has done their research on Maremma traits. She'd thrive in a rural or semi-rural home with secure fencing, though a large suburban property may also work if she's brought indoors overnight.
She may be able to live with another compatible dog after a meet and greet. Cats are untested, so slow introductions and supervision would be important. Nellie will benefit from structure while settling in, and being able to adjust at her own pace to her new life.
With patience and understanding, Nellie will form a deep bond and become a devoted, rewarding companion.
Adoption details
Our adoption process is designed to match you with the right pet, the first time. Our team are experts at rehoming animals who have specific needs that match your lifestyle, to ensure every adoption placement will last a lifetime.
At our Peninsula site, adoption hours are 12pm – 4pm. You are welcome to attend our reception office without an appointment to begin our adoption process during adoption hours.
The adoption areas are not free to walk through, and you will need to chat with our staff to confirm that a potential adoption is a good match.
Once the adoption has been discussed, a staff member will facilitate a walk-through of the adoption areas or have an animal brought to you in a greeting area.
