About Polo
Meet Polo, a stunning 5.5 year old Japanese Spitz cross with a bright white coat and an even brighter spirit. Polo's journey to the Lost Dogs Home began when he was found wandering as a stray. Although he was microchipped, sadly, his previous owners never came forward. Despite this turn of events, it is incredibly clear that Polo was once a very well-loved dog who spent plenty of time learning how to be a "good boy" in a family home.
Because he found himself in the big, loud world on his own for a while, Polo can be a bit of a nervous fellow when he first meets new people. To help him find his feet, he has been working closely with our specialized behavior department. Through their work, we've discovered that Polo is a brilliant student who absolutely loves to show off his skills. He is already a master of "sit" and gives a very polite "handshake" to anyone offering a treat.
Polo is searching for a very specific kind of sanctuary to call his own. He is looking for a quiet environment where he can be the center of your world; therefore, he needs to be the only dog in the home. Polo would like his future owners to be home more often than not. To ensure he feels completely safe and relaxed, Polo is also looking for an adults only household.
It is heartbreaking to see such a clever and capable dog waiting for his second chance, but we know his perfect match is out there. Polo has clearly known the warmth of a loving home before, and he is more than ready to find that feeling again. If you have a quiet home and a lot of love to give, Polo might just be the loyal companion you've been searching for. Please come and meet Polo at our North Melbourne shelter today! No need to call or email ahead of time, simply come in as soon as you can to meet this sweet boy. <3
