Meet Barley. This boy really is the sweetest and most handsome pup. Barley shows his affection with lots of love (and a few enthusiastic licks if he can get away with it!). He knows commands like sit, down, outside, and treat. He would love a daily walk to stretch his legs and get to know his new neighbourhood, and meeting new dogs and people will help him gain confidence too. At night, Barley sleeps happily in his dog bed next to his carer’s bed: he really enjoys being close to his people. He is a gentle boy, though he can get a little excited when greeting you after you’ve been out. He can be a bit timid when meeting new people, but once he feels comfortable, he has so much love to give.
Barley is good with kids and other dogs. His compatibility with cats is an unknown.
Barley is toilet trained. He may ask to go out once at night while he's still young. Like many young dogs, he may dig holes if left alone outside for long periods, so he would love in a home where someone is around often or with another dog to keep him company. He’s still learning what’s a toy and what’s not, but he absolutely loves his toys! Barley is also very food-motivated, which helps with training. He’ll need a bit of guidance to understand that human food in the kitchen isn’t for him!
Barley is such a nice pup and really deserves a loving, gentle home where he'll be at the heart of your life.
MEDICAL NOTES
Adoption fee includes vet check, vaccination, microchip (including transfer of ownership fee), flea and worm treatment and sterilisation. At around 4 months, Barley developed Juvenile Cellulitis, a condition related to their immune system, causing lumps to occur on the muzzle (nose). The condition was treated with cortisone and also antibiotics to deter any infection, and has now cleared up. There should be no further occurrence or treatment required as the condition only affects dogs under 6 months of age.
ADOPTION NOTES
Our adoption process for the successful applicant includes a meet and greet, (including your own dog if applicable), a home check (or photos of your yard and fencing to be supplied to us if not local), and a two week trial period to ensure your chosen dog is the right fit for your home.
All adoption fees must be deposited into our SAFE Bunbury bank account in full before adoption trial starts (we cannot accept cash). The Adoption Agreement will be emailed to the selected applicant in advance of meeting your chosen dog.
After the adoption trial period has been completed we arrange transfer of ownership of the dog's microchip to the new owner, and email out the vet records.
