About Shelly
Shelly is a very smart and happy girl with plenty of energy, she loves going on drives and loves water and will happily accompany you on at least one long walk per day. She has some basic training but would be more well suited to an experienced dog owner or someone with plenty of time to dedicate to training her consistently. Despite this, she's excellent on walks, she doesn't pull too hard and she can even sit before crossing the road! She enjoys toys with hidden treats and she is incredibly food motivated, she learns very quickly. She isn't good around cats or small animals and will chase after them after staring them down. She also hasn't had much experience around other dogs and gets quite overexcited and hard to calm down in their presence, she isn't aggressive toward unfamiliar dogs but usually stares them down with her tail wagging and barks. She is currently living with another similar sized dog and has now acquainted herself enough to start playing with him (under supervision), but Shelly is quite possessive over her toys and tends to guard them - she's been improving daily to the point where you can take her toy away and she won't react. Shelly doesn't quite understand that she should be sleeping in her bed yet, so she's fine sleeping anywhere (usually the floor), with a little more training she'll stay in her bed - and with a little extra toilet training she'll be able to go all night without needing the toilet, she knows how to tell you when she needs to go. Shelly seems to prefer being outside, but will also follow you inside the house if she wants to, she likes to play fetch to keep you from going back inside and will happily drop a toy near your feet for you to throw for her! As Shelly is quite reactive, she would be happiest in a home without children, she is quite wary of strangers and will bark if she is uncomfortable, but once she warms up to you she'll follow you around non-stop. A decent sized yard with secure fencing would be required for Shelly as she loves to run around and hasn't quite mastered recall yet!
