About Neville
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
**Before applying, please remember that adopting a puppy into your home is a huge commitment, and very demanding of your time. Puppies require daily exercise, positive and varied socialisation, grooming, training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Puppies will need someone who is home for most of the day with regular focused input, especially in those first six months after adoption **
NAME: Neville
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to SAFE as an owner surrender with his 5 siblings. Mum originated in the NT, was rescued by her kind owners as a heavily pregnant dog, and now her pups need loving homes.
BREED: Mixed breed (Mum is of the smaller variety, but definitely a Northern special)
************************************************************************
ASSETS: Neville is a quiet boy who prefers to sit and watch the chaos that his siblings create. He loves to be around you and see what you’re doing. He loves to cuddle and will happily sit on your lap.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Neville loves to play with soft and squeaky toys and will happily take himself away and make his own fun. He is a typical puppy with bursts of energy where he plays for a while then settles down for a snooze (ideally in your lap) before waking up and doing it all over again!
ENDEARING FEATURES: His gentle, loving nature. He’s great to have around.
OTHER ANIMALS: Being a young puppy, he will get on well with other friendly dogs after gentle, supervised introductions. He could live with a dog-savvy, confident cat, again after gentle introduction.
GENERAL INFO: Neville will need training for pretty much everything being so young. Expect accidents while he’s settling into his new home and routine! He’ll benefit greatly from puppy school and ongoing classes into adulthood where he can mix with other dogs, and this is a commitment we will expect from his new owner.
ESSENTIALS for Neville:
** a loving home where someone is there for most of the day, essential in the first six months after adoption
** a home where he is treated as part of the family and is allowed to be inside or out as he needs and to sleep inside at night
** a decent sized, well fenced garden where he can run, play, sniff and explore in safety
** attendance at puppy school and continued training into adulthood for him to learn and grow confidence – essential. Please give your puppy direction and fair boundaries to engender balance in his growth
** continued positive, gentle exposure and socialisation
Neville will have bursts of energy while a pup and we envisage will be medium energy at times as an adult dog. He could live with another dog with similar energy to him.
Neville could also live with dog-savvy gentle children over 12 years of age, who will interact with him but also know when to give him space. We encourage new owners with children to work with a crate to allow the pup space and 'down' time. These puppies have not been raised with children, so owners need to be very aware of boundaries both for kids and pups - with the chance of them being slightly smaller dogs please remember that they are not toys and will require respectful handling and gentle interactions.
If Neville sounds like the perfect fit for your family, please send an enquiry and we’ll be in touch soon.
