About Teddy
Introducing Teddy!
Teddy is a Maltese x Pomeranian x born 6th December 2022.
Teddy, his mum & aunty were all brought in as strays. His mum & aunty were in very poor condition and they were all surrendered for rehoming.
Since being at the facility Teddy has been a very cheeky, but very affectionate boy. He seems to be excited by life and is a very excitedly bouncy boy.
Teddy has had mixed reactions when meeting other dogs. When he first came in we believed that he was bonded with his mum & would need to be rehomed with her so we did their meet & greets together. He was very protective of her & didn't like the other dogs he met. When we realised they could be separated we tested him by himself & he was a completely different dog. He actually hid behind his handler most of the time and only came out for a quick sniff before hiding again. As Teddy has previously lived with two other dogs we believe he could be suitable to live with another small dog, or he'd be happy being the only spolit "child" at home. If you have a friendly dog at home, we will need to do a meet & greet with them the ensure they get along before going home.
Teddy tested fairly well with our cranky facility cat. She was hissed at and immediately cowered & walked away. We believe he could be suitable to live with cats if given a slow & controlled introduction to them.
Teddy tested well with our resident rooster. He was very easy to distract and he walked away without being coaxed. We believe Teddy could be suitable to live with smaller animals if given a slow & controlled introduction to them.
Teddy has shown no signs of food aggression since being at the facility.
When Teddy first came into us he did show mild signs of separation anxiety, however this seems to have settled now.
Teddy would thrive in a home where he is included as a part of the family.
Teddy's adoption fee is $950 and includes his desexing and lifetime registration.
Teddy has been treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
