About Baxter
Introducing Baxter!
Baxter is Staffy x born 10th June 2025.
Baxter had been staying with family who decided they "didn't feed dogs" and he rarely got fed while with them. Once the owner was able to speak, he advised he still has at least 2 months & at least one surgery left before he can come home & he decided to surrender Baxter for rehoming.
Since being at the facility Baxter has been a ball of fun, affection & puppy mayh, not only with each other but with every human. While he can get excited & jump up for a cuddle, he can also be very gentle when needed.
Baxter tested quite well with other dogs, he seemed happy to say hello but wasn't overly playful. We would prefer if Baxter had another dog at home, as he becomes incredibly stressed when he's alone, however having said that he has now gone into foster care and seems to be coping quite well on his own. If you have a friendly dog at home, we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Baxter tested OK with cats. He had his hackles up but quickly lowered his head & left the room. We believe he could be suitable to live with cats if given a very slow & controlled introduction to.
Baxter was mostly unfazed by our resident rooster. He was quite excited to see/sniff him at first, then happily walked away. Given his excitement we believe he could be suitable to live with caged pocket pets.
Baxter has shown no signs of food aggression, while at the facility.
Baxter's adoption fee is $650 and includes his desexing & lifetime registration.
He is also regularly treated for flea and worms and are up to date with his vaccinations.

If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
