About Shaka
Meet Shaka — the Big Heart with a Big Personality
Shaka is a striking, athletic Rottweiler who has been loved since puppyhood and it shows. He’s confident, playful, people‑focused, and absolutely lights up when he has someone to engage with. If you love the classic Rottie mix of brains, brawn, and goofy charm, Shaka will feel like home.
Raised with structure, quality nutrition, and regular grooming, Shaka is in excellent condition and thrives when he has a job to do — even if that “job” is simply fetch, training games, or being your loyal shadow.
What Shaka Loves
Training time — he knows a long list of commands and learns quickly with toys or treats.
Play — fetch, chase, tug, and anything active.
Car rides — he’s excited and protective in the car.
People — once he knows you’re “his,” he’s affectionate, loyal, and eager to please.
Personality & Behaviour
Shaka is a classic working‑line Rottie: energetic, intelligent, and protective. He can come across as intense when he’s excited, but his previous owner describes him as deeply loving once he bonds. He’s been well‑handled and responds to direction, especially when you set clear boundaries.
He has lived with another dog (a British Bulldog) and played rough but not aggressively. With new dogs, he can be bossy and selective, so slow introductions are essential.
Shaka has not been around children and would be best suited to an adult‑only home or a home with older teens who understand large‑breed behaviour.
He has had negative experiences with neighbourhood cats and should not be placed with them.
Training Notes
Knows: Sit, Stay, Come, Leave It, Drop It, Wait, Off, Fetch, No, and more.
Walks best on a short lead; may pull when excited.
House‑training: occasional excitement urination reported.
Crate trained.
Protective at the door — will bark or growl until told “quiet.”
Ideal Home
Shaka will thrive with:
Someone experienced with Rottweilers or similar working breeds
A home that enjoys training, structure, and mental stimulation
No cats
No young children
A secure yard and consistent routine
A person who wants a loyal, playful, intelligent companion
Why He’s Looking for a New Home
Shaka’s owner is heartbroken to surrender him due to a landlord refusing large breeds and personal health challenges. He describes Shaka as a “very loving dog” who just needs quality time, structure, and someone who understands the Rottie mind and heart.
In His Owner’s Words
“He is easily trainable with toys and rewards. He just wants to play all the time and may come across as being aggressive. He would make a great companion for someone who loves and understands Rottweilers.”You are welcome to call on 0484916393 for any questions about the dogs or our adoption process.
