About Bertie and Ocean
Meet Ocean & Bertie – a very special mother–daughter duo
Ocean came to us as a brand-new mama, having recently given birth to her three beautiful babies. From the very beginning, she showed just how gentle and devoted she is. Ocean and her kittens were fostered together, giving her the chance to raise her little family in safety and comfort.
As the kittens grew, they were adopted one by one… all except Bertie.
Why? We honestly have no idea. Bertie is lovable, playful, and unusually pretty — the kind of kitten who wins hearts without even trying. But Bertie didn’t seem to mind waiting at all. It simply meant more time spent with her mum, and the bond between them only grew stronger.
Ocean is a quiet, sweet soul — a brilliant mama who is calm, nurturing, and affectionate in her own gentle way. Bertie, her daughter, is her perfect contrast: full of curiosity, love, and playful energy, always close by her mum’s side.
Together, Ocean and Bertie are a beautiful reminder of the powerful bonds animals form — and how sometimes, the best things really are worth waiting for!

Adoption details
*Please only apply if you reside 4hrs from Shepparton
* You will have a list of questions sent that you need to answer and send back.
* (For dog applications) Photos are requested of your yard, the fencing and any undercover shelter areas (patio/pergola) that must be sent through along with answers to questions.
* It’s not first in best dressed and we pride ourselves in finding the perfect family home for the animals in our care and make sure each family finds the perfect animal as well.
* We feed our cats on Lifewise, bags are available to buy from us.
* We also offer a 2 week trial on all animals that are adopted from this rescue organisation, if returned during this time a refund less 10% is given.
* Meet and greets are always taken prior to adoption, on the day if all goes well and you are happy, you can adopt on the spot and take your animal home to begin the next chapter together. We don't offer more than 1 meet and greet.
*All animals listed on our petrescue page are available for adoption until the moment they are removed
