About Barnaby
Looking For Joy on Four Paws - Meet Barnaby!
Barnaby is the kind of dog who wins people over without even trying. He has a gentle, easygoing nature that makes him instantly lovable, and he leans into affection with a soft sweetness that feels like a privilege to receive. He’s comfortable being picked up, enjoys calm touch, and handles routine care well, though he can be a little shy at first and appreciates someone who lets him set the pace. Once he knows you’re kind, he blossoms.
For his age, Barnaby still has a surprising amount of pep. He loves getting out and about, walks beautifully on a lead, and is currently using a harness at AAPS. He’s an enthusiastic eater and is working on gaining a bit of healthy weight, which he’s taking in stride. His mix of gentle manners and youthful energy makes him a lovely companion for someone who enjoys relaxed strolls and quiet moments in equal measure.
Social by nature, Barnaby gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He’s calm, friendly, and confident in canine company, making him a great candidate for a home with another small, friendly dog. He’d also be perfectly happy as a solo pet, provided he gets regular opportunities to socialize. His house training is mostly there, he’s doing well at AAPS, though he may have the occasional accident in his pen as he continues to learn.
Barnaby would thrive in a home with children aged 8 and up who understand how to move gently and respectfully around a slightly shy dog. What he wants most is a family who will go slow, offer kindness, and let him settle in at his own pace. In return, he’ll give you a soft, steady companionship that feels like sunshine on a quiet morning, warm, comforting, and endlessly endearing. If you think you're the right home for Barnaby, please Apply Now for the opportunity to meet him. 💕
