Grizzly is an absolute sweetheart who will steal your heart with his fun personality. This affectionate boy is a chatty guy and loves to have full conversations with you while you stroke him. A playful soul, Grizzly adores interactive toys and will enthusiastically chase anything you throw his way. He's also a food enthusiast who approaches mealtime with excitement.
You'll notice Grizzly has a unique little tail – it's likely he was born like this or got an old injury from when he was very young. It's simply part of what makes him special and doesn't cause him any discomfort whatsoever.
Grizzly has proven to be friendly with other cats in his foster home, making him a great option for a multi-cat household, however he hasn't encountered any dogs yet. This sweet kitten would thrive in a loving family ready to give him the loving home he deserves. Please read medical notes below.
* If you already have pets in your home, a slow and gradual introduction is a must, to ensure your pets and your new kitten have the best chance at a successful integration
MEDICAL NOTES
Adoption fee includes vet check, first vaccination*, flea and worm treatment, microchip including the transfer of ownership, and sterilisation at a SAFE approved vet at 6 months of age (see list below).
*Kittens may require further vaccination(s) to complete the full vaccination course. This will be at the cost of the new owner and is not included in the adoption fee. Please enquire for more information.
Please note: Grizzly was previously treated for ringworm while in foster care. Ringworm is a common fungal skin condition seen in young animals and is not caused by worms. It is treatable and, in many cases, resolves with appropriate care and time.
To the best of SAFE’s knowledge, the skin lesions on Grizzly have resolved and the condition appears to have cleared. As an added precaution, SAFE requires a veterinary examination prior to adoption to confirm there are no active signs of ringworm before he leaves care.
As with many skin conditions in young animals, there is a small possibility of recurrence, particularly during times of stress or if the immune system is compromised. Adopters should monitor their cat’s skin and coat and seek veterinary advice if any new hair loss, scaly patches, or skin changes are noticed. Ongoing veterinary care after adoption is the responsibility of the adopter.
ADOPTION DETAILS
To apply to adopt, please complete a SAFE Cat Adoption Enquiry Form via our website. You will be advised if your chosen kitten is still available and then put in contact with the carer for a chance to ask further questions. If a meet-and-greet is then arranged, we will email the adoption paperwork and payment instructions to you prior to this. Please note payment must be made before adoption trial starts and we are unable to take cash payment.
Our adoption process includes a two-week trial to ensure your chosen pet is the right fit for your home. After a successful trial period, SAFE Bunbury will arrange transfer of ownership on your new pet's microchip and email copies of their vet records out to you.
When adopting a kitten under 6 months old, one of the following approved vet clinics should be selected by the adopter to arrange for his/her sterilisation by the age of 6 months. The sterilisation surgery is included in the adoption fee:
Blair Street Veterinary Hospital, Bunbury
