About Abby
Devoted abby
abby was rescued rescued from rspca at 4 months old. . Due to family changes abby is looking for a new forever home. Abby has a lot of kelpie in her and as a result is an extremely active and a strong girl. . She would ideally be suited with someone active like a daily jogger/walker. . Abby is use to leash free parks. Abby is also an intelligent girl and i am sure would be able to learn new skills easily. . She usually responds to a firm tone and is also very faithful and not inclined to roam. She sleeps inside at night because she loves human company and it would break her heart to be left outside. But she loves hanging around and playing in the yard during the day. Ideally she would love to live on a large property and help you with your daily chores, she would suit a retired active couple or someone used to working dogs. She is the perfect little package just waiting to be loved. Just look at her face and those ears, how could you not love this little darling?
an update from her carer
""heres a bit of an insight into abbys personality. She is a very devoted dog,
she will follow you everywhere and climb in your lap if you let her! for
this reason she needs high fences (probably needs 6ft fencing preferably
either colourbond or solid fencing) because she has a good jump on her and
if you leave her in the yard and walk (or drive) away she will jump the
fence to follow you. If she does get out she doesn't go far away from you. She loves to play with other dogs but she does get a little boisterous in her play due to
her age and energy. She also likes to play with toys but will give up after
a sort time if she has to race other dogs to get to them. She likes to go to
the leash free park and bounce around everywhere. She is good in the car and walks well on a leash- she would need daily
exercise, a combination of play and walks would suit her well. She is fine
with my cat, inquisitive but she respects him when he asks for space. She
doesn't appear to be a dominant dog- she is more than happy for my dogs to
be the boss and she backs off when they tell her to settle down. While she
loves to play and laze around with other dogs she does crave human
attention. For this reason she would be best suited to someone who is home a
majority of the time or maybe a labourer or someone who could take her to
work. If she was left at home during the day she would need a canine
companion. She is good with children but she does jump when excited and has
a bit of power behind her so she would be suited to children probably around
8-10yo +. I am working with her on the jumping but i guess sometimes when
you're young and excited everything becomes a bit to much to handle with 4
paws on the ground! she sits, shakes and will usually stay on command, she
is also a good guard dog- she barks but hasn't shown any signs of biting new
people, she is a little wary of strangers at first though (but with no
aggression!) overall she is a well behaved devoted dog and once she settles
into a forever home she will be a great addition to the family. ""
