About Lucy
Lucy is a young girl with a gentle, sensitive soul who is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can continue to grow at her own pace. She is shy and timid with humans and needs a patient family who truly understands that not all cats seek human affection, and that companionship can look different.
Lucy must be adopted into a home with a friendly resident cat, as feline companionship is essential to her confidence, happiness, and continued progress. She absolutely adores other cats and has blossomed since joining her foster home’s cat clan. She plays, runs, and explores alongside them, and has even been spotted snuggling up with her cat friends. Watching her interact with other cats is incredibly heartwarming - she truly comes alive with them and would make a wonderful best friend for your cat. She particularly loves other cats who are playful and active, and her cheeky side comes out when she is around them!
Lucy has made wonderful progress in foster care and is now very comfortable exploring the house. She has settled in beautifully and rarely feels the need to retreat or hide anymore, happily moving around the home and co-existing with her humans. While she still prefers to keep a little distance and does not enjoy being approached or handled, she is increasingly comfortable sharing space with people as long as her boundaries are respected.
Recently, Lucy has even started cautiously hopping onto the bed when her humans are in it - a big step that shows how much she is learning to feel safe nearby.
She is also becoming more comfortable around guests and new people. While she still prefers to observe from a distance, she is gradually learning that strangers are nothing to worry about and is relaxing more in their presence.
Creamy treats are her favourite and currently the best way to gently interact with her one-on-one.
Lucy has the sweetest, tiniest little meow, which she uses to call out to her cat friends - she truly found her voice once she had feline companions around her.
She is also living with a dog in foster care. While dogs are not her favourite, she has been cautious yet curious, and may be happy to co-exist with a calm, older, cat-savvy dog who is able to respect her boundaries.
Lucy is best suited to a quiet home with a friendly resident cat, a low-pressure environment, and adopters who are happy to provide love without expectations. For the right home, adopting Lucy will be a deeply rewarding experience built on trust, patience, and quiet moments.

Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
