About Lucy
Lucy is a young girl with a gentle, sensitive soul who is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can continue to grow at her own pace. She is shy with humans and needs a patient family who understands that companionship doesn’t always mean constant affection.
Lucy must be adopted into a home with a friendly resident cat, as feline companionship is essential to her confidence and happiness. She absolutely adores other cats - playing, exploring, cuddling up with them, and even affectionately grooming her friends. Her cheeky side really shines around other cats, especially those who are playful and active.
Lucy has made beautiful progress in foster care and is now very comfortable and happy moving around the home and co-existing with her humans. While she still prefers a little space, she has built up enough trust to accept gentle pats - and she absolutely loves it, rolling around with excitement! She also enjoys hopping onto the bed to nap near her humans, something that took time and trust but is now a regular and very special habit.
Lucy is currently living alongside a Golden Retriever in foster care. While she chooses not to actively interact or spend time with him, she is comfortable sharing the home. Because of this, Lucy may be suited to a home with a calm, older, cat-savvy dog who is respectful of her boundaries and happy to coexist peacefully. If her future home has a dog, it will be important that she has her own safe spaces to retreat to whenever she wants some quiet time.
Despite her gentle nature, Lucy has a delightfully cheeky streak. She will happily sneak a nibble of human food when your back is turned, and makes the cutest trills and chirps when she’s excited, especially when playing with her cat friends.
She is continuing to grow in leaps and bounds with her confidence around new people and is learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. She especially loves creamy treats and can’t resist a Cat Dancer wand toy, which is the perfect way to build a bond with her.
Lucy is best suited to a quiet home with a friendly resident cat and adopters who are happy to provide love without expectations. For the right home, she will be an incredibly rewarding companion, with a bond built on trust, patience, and those quiet, special moments.

Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
