Finley is a sweet, gentle and loving boy who is searching for a calm and patient forever home. He is a loyal dog who enjoys soft, reassuring human interaction and will happily seek out affection once he feels safe. Finley can be worried when entering new environments, particularly indoor spaces, and we suspect he may have spent most of his life outdoors. Because of this, he will thrive in a home with a secure, comfortable yard where he can relax and feel at ease. His adopters should introduce indoor living slowly and positively, allowing him to explore at his own pace without pressure. Finley has likely experienced some negative handling in the past and may become wary of fast movements or items being lifted quickly or overhead. He is also unsure about toys being picked up during play, preferring to approach them gently in his own time. As Finley grows more confident and comfortable, he becomes excitable and affectionate, showing just how loving he can truly be. He would be best suited to a quieter home with calm, older children who understand gentle behaviour. Finley has met other dogs in care and has been friendly on social walks, so he may enjoy living with another steady, confident dog pending a successful meet-and-greet. With patience, kindness and a peaceful environment, Finley will blossom into a devoted and loving companion.
