Hi there — I’m Nell, a purebred female Maremma puppy with a confident personality and a big future ahead of me!
As you can probably tell from my photos — which were taken during my first visit to the vet, where I was described as cooperative, placid, and easy to handle — I’m a beautiful white fluffball now, but I won’t stay little for long. As at 3 February, I weighed 9 kg, and like all Maremmas, I’m expected to grow into a large adult dog of around 35–45 kg at maturity, so I’m looking for a home that understands guardian breeds and is ready for the responsibility (and the rewards!) that come with them.
I’m a confident girl who enjoys meeting people and exploring the world around me. I like to think of myself as brave, curious, and just a little bit independent — classic Maremma traits. Because of my confident nature, I’ll do best with an experienced family who understands large working breeds and can guide me as I grow.
Maremmas are famous for their loyalty and devotion, and in the right home we make wonderful family dogs — calm, steady companions who take our role of watching over our people very seriously. With space to grow, good guidance, and plenty of positive experiences, I’ll become a deeply loyal member of the family.
I’m available for adoption under ARK’s Deferred Desexing Program, which means my adoption fee includes the cost of desexing when I’m old enough, subject to terms and conditions.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
