About Thyme
Marmaduke and Alexis didn't arrive at the shelter brave or bold. They arrived terrified.
Everything was too loud, too big, too unfamiliar. Little bodies pressed into corners, wide eyes watching for danger, hearts racing when a hand reached toward them. They weren't "difficult" kittens, just scared ones.
Then something beautiful happened.
They went into foster care. A quiet home. Gentle voices. Patience instead of pressure. And slowly .. they bloomed. They learned that the world didn't have to be so frightening. They played. They purred. They showed who they really are.
And then they came back.
Back to the shelter. Back to the noise, the smells, the constant change. And just like that, the fear crept back in. Not because they haven't learned, but because they're sensitive little souls who feel everything deeply.
Marmaduke and Alexis adore each other. They find comfort in familiar warmth, curled up together when the world feels overwhelming. They do not need to be adopted together, but their bond is real and tender, and they remind each other how to be brave.
What they need most is understanding.
They need someone who knows that saving a life doesn't always look like instant cuddles or confidence. Someone who can see past the fear and recognise the incredible progress they're capable of. Someone willing to give them a small, safe space to start agaid and celebrate the quiet milestones.
Adopting Marmaduke or Alexis isn't just bringing home a kitten.
It's changing the course of a life.
If you've ever wanted to be someone's hero, this is what it looks like.
Marmaduke & Alexis are part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment.
