About Alfie
Alfie is a beautiful 4 year old cockatiel who has a soft, sweet personality and a definite cheeky side.
Alfie didn’t have the best start in life. He came from a situation where he spent long periods locked in a cage in a garage, with very little human interaction. Since coming into care, Alfie has been learning what a healthier, more enriched life looks like.
Because of his past, Alfie is understandably nervous and cautious around people. Over the past few months, however, he has made steady progress and is beginning to show more of his true personality. He has a sweet, gentle nature with a subtle cheeky side, and he especially enjoys chatting to humans from the safety of his perch. His soft vocalisations, curious expressions, and growing confidence suggest a bird who wants connection, even if he’s not quite sure how to go about it just yet.
Alfie is not currently comfortable with handling or close physical contact, but he is observant, interested, and learning that people can be safe. With patience, consistency, and kindness, we believe he will continue to build trust at his own pace.
Alfie is looking for a calm, patient home that understands that trust cannot be rushed. He will need to be housed indoors, given daily supervised out of cage time, and supported with a pellet based diet alongside fresh chop every day.
In the right environment, Alfie will continue to grow into himself, a gentle, thoughtful little bird who is learning how to feel secure, curious, and comfortable in the world again.

Adoption details
Regardless of the breed of animal you are looking to adopt, our adoption process is the same.
The first step of the process involves submitting an adoption application form. The form helps us understand a little bit more about you and your household and allows us to determine whether an animal is suited to your home and family and vice versa.
After a review process, shortlisted applicants will be contacted via the Pet Rescue Website. It is usually at at this point that we will organise a Meet & Greet.
If the Meet & Greet goes well on the day, in most cases you will be able to take the animal home straight away after payment of the adoption fee. We have a 2 week trial period to allow the animal to settle into your home and ensure the animal and you are happy. During this time, the animal can be returned to Forget Me Not Rescue for a full refund of the adoption fee.
All necessary paperwork including vet work history and transfer of ownership information will be sent via email within a few days unless otherwise specified.
