NOTE: You are unable to meet Poppy until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Poppy in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you. 

What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family and not left outside 24/7 with no interaction.
• I enjoy the company of other dogs my own size but am NOT keen on bigger dogs
• Being a social and playful pupper I would love to go to doggy daycare
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promises to keep me well-groomed and brush me regularly so I'm always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• A family that will love and care for me during my twilight years 
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy and we must be introduced slowly. 
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me.
• I can be shy at first, so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time.
• I'm an older lady that simply want's a quiet home and a warm bed. My manners may not be perfect but my love will be.

My best features: 

• Wiggle butt 
• Gentle & placid 
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog 
• I LOVE toys, playing fetch and a game of tug-o-war 
 
Where I need to improve / Training required:
•I seem to be nervous/scared of other dogs bigger than me, so taking me place where I'll interact with dogs in a controlled environment will help me learn to not be scared of them anymore.
•I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization 
•I love my food & toys so using them as a positive reward should make my training easier. 
•I am timid new situations such as entering a building/home. I MUST have a family who'll allow me inside so I can see it isn't a scary place and to allow my confidence to grow. 
•I am social with other friendly dogs however I will react if they are too full on or reactive to me, further socialisation is recommended.  I'm a typical small dog.
