Meet Meekah - 1 year old, American Bulldog, part-time chaos goblin, full-time sweetheart.

Meekah is a little bit misunderstood. At first glance she may appear to be a boisterous, slightly unhinged ball of zoomies with springs for legs and absolutely no off switch. But beneath the bouncing, the enthusiasm, and the occasional did she just parkour off the couch? moment is actually a very sweet and affectionate puppy who just happens to have some big feelings in a small amount of self-control.

Meekah entered the shelter system during a pretty important stage of her development, so she's still figuring out how to be a polite member of society. Right now her life philosophy is roughly: If in doubt... bounce about.

The good news? With the right amount of exercise and mental stimulation, Meekah's brain does in fact connect to the rest of her body and she can focus beautifully on her trainer. She's smart, eager, and absolutely capable of becoming a wonderful, affectionate family member - she just needs the right humans to help her channel all that enthusiasm into something a little more... socially acceptable.

Meekah is looking for an experienced owner who can provide clear guidance, lots of positive training, and enough adventures to satisfy her full of beans lifestyle. With the right leadership, she has all the potential to grow into a truly stand-out dog citizen.

Now, about her social circle: unfortunately, living in the shelter has not done wonders for Meekah's opinions about other dogs. After being teased by passing pups for far too long, she's become a bit reactive and is still learning the finer points of doggy diplomacy. Because of this, Meekah would do best as the only animal in the home while she works on her manners.

She's also best suited to a home with older, dog-savvy kids who understand that sometimes excitement looks like a flying bulldog with zero regard for personal space.

Give her the guidance she needs and we're confident Meekah will grow into the loving, loyal, slightly goofy best friend she was always meant to be.
