About Benson (67649)
Benson came to GAWS full of energy and enthusiasm for life, and during his time with us he has made wonderful progress learning the foundations of good manners. He has shown himself to be an observant dog who responds well to calm, confident guidance and enjoys having clear expectations. Benson has learned that walks can be relaxed, that waiting politely at doors and gates is rewarding, and that life doesn't always need to move at top speed. As his training has progressed, Benson has revealed a calmer side to his personality, along with a genuine desire to please his people. He has an affectionate nature and an endearing charm that shines through once he feels settled and understood. Benson has shown promising interactions with other dogs when supported to engage calmly, and while he is still developing these skills, his focus will be best supported as the only dog in the home initially. With time and continued guidance, a canine companion in the future may be a possibility. Benson has no known history living with cats or children and may need support adjusting to an indoor-outdoor lifestyle. He is looking for a home that can continue building on the great foundations he has already started and allow him to keep growing into the wonderful companion he is becoming.
