Coby

Coby is a gorgeous 15-month-old Maltese x Shih Tzu with the sweetest nature and the biggest heart packed into a small body. He is the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and lap-dog affection, making him an ideal candidate for someone looking for a loyal little best friend.
Coby absolutely loves a game of fetch and will happily chase after his toys with enthusiasm — but if you ask him what his favourite thing in the world is, the answer is simple: being curled up with his people. He is a true snuggle bug, always ready for cuddles on the couch, a warm lap, or to follow you from room to room just to be close.
Coby can be left on his own for short periods and will cope fine, but he would much prefer a home where someone is around most of the time or the ability to have inside access when not home
Coby has not been exposed to many things during his life so far, he can be weary of new, novel things but he is still young enough to develop his confidence in the big wide world. He has enjoyed the company of other dogs he has met while in foster care, however this has been through very slow and gentle introductions as hyper excited dogs do make him a little unsure.
Coby has loved been in a foster home with school aged children who play with him and love to snuggle
Coby is a clever little boy who is continuing to learn and grow. With consistency, he will flourish. He will benefit from ongoing basic training, a secure home environment, and plenty of love, attention, and routine.
Inside the home , Coby is happiest being close to his humans, enjoying couch cuddles and being part of the family. He is supervised when inside but has been well behaved whilst in care.
Coby walks fairly well on a harness lead. He is a bit jumpy and pulls at the start as he is just so excited to get out and see the world. He settles down well into a sniffy walk. He can bark at unknown dogs at times
Coby is crate trained and sleeps well overnight
Coby does travel well in the car
Coby is toilet trained
Coby requires regular grooming so a family committed to ensure his coat is well cared for is essential
Coby would love home where he won’t be left alone for long extended hours, he would like inside access so a doggy door is recommended

If another dog in residence we would ONLY be seeking a dog of similar size that is kind and respectful of other dogs personal space
If children are in the home we are seeking dog savvy school aged children as a min
